intus brixen the future in the history

The exhibition-convention represents the joint outcome of the work produced by the students of the Technische Hochschule Rosenheim and the Mantova Territorial Pole of the Politecnico di Milano.
The design workshops were conducted according to the vital combination of research and project. Following in-depth urban analyses, the students of the two universities developed minimal interventions within the historic city centre of Brixen.
The architectures were designed as an impulse strategy involving the historical fabric with a critical method through additions, subtractions and connections.
Different experiments arose from the potential inherent in the city itself and were conducted in sample locations as application and verification of a method.
Each group investigated the project through the dialogue with the context in the study of elevations, sections, shadows, penumbra, spaces and matter, and the focus on the human scale, in the design of the physical experience within the spaces and the path as an emotional gradient.
The lowest common denominator of intent of each project was the definition of spaces that enhance the qualities of Brixen by amplifying its potential value.

148 students from both universities, together with their professors, created new impulses for the city of brixen. the results was presented to visitors in an exhibition of models, drawings and graphics in the kurhaus guggenberg, in the hofburg and in the stadtgalerie of brixen.
